Sharks!
On Thursday we had a visit from Richard de Hamel from the University of Otago Marine Studies Centre. He came to talk to us about sharks. We had lots of questions. We wanted to know why some books say that sharks are warm blooded and some books say that sharks are cold blooded. He explained to us that sharks are poikilothermic! That means that they change their body temperature to be the same as the water temperature that they are swimming in. He had a fun game where you had to answer a question about sharks and if you got it wrong the sharks head "bit" your hand!! It was fun!
