Autahi had the smallest book in Kea Class today. It is a book of inspirational quotes.
Welcome to our class blog! We are a class of Year 3 and 4 students and our school is at the top of the beautiful South Island. We hope you enjoy reading what we have been learning about.

Brook Sanctuary Trip
After learning about native plants and birds it was a terrific opertunity for Kea class to be able to see it all at the brook sanctuary. Rick shared his valuable knowledge with us. He could tell which berries were poisonous and which were not. Rick also told us how the Maori used some native plants to help cure sickness.
Rick showed us the weta in a hollow of a trre trunk by using his sell phone. He turned his light on then videoed the weta.
To finish off he showed us stuffed stoat, rat, possum and ferret.
It was a great outdoor experience and we hope to take our families there!

The oldest books in Kea Class!
Khara's book is two hundred and twenty years old. It is a cookery book. It is so old that it uses the old fashioned way of writing the " s" sound with an "f". Katie's book is dated 1881 and is a book of general knowledge.
